Every bird in Fowl Language is real. The joke is built into their actual common names, proof that ornithology occasionally sounds like it was named by a middle-schooler. Nothing had to be invented; nature already did the work.

Design Story
Fowl Language started with the simple realization that real bird names are already funny enough. Rather than inventing the joke, I illustrated a whole lineup of actual birds whose names do the work for me. It is equal parts bird nerd, nature fact, and very immature sense of humor.
