It takes both sunshine and rain to make a rainbow | Acorn & Artisan Signature Sun-Catchers

If you ask me how sun-catchers became a thing at Acorn & Artisan, I'll shrug and tell you I have no idea. According to my mother, though, I've been talking about making them for ages and then one day just did it. 

Sun-catchers bring rainbows into your home, a bit of style to an ordinary window, and give you a gorgeous conversation piece. For me, rainbows are so much more than just pretty. For years we struggled to become pregnant. Each day I stared at a cheery little picture with a bright blue sky and a fun, colorful umbrella. On the picture it said "it takes both sunshine and rain to make a rainbow." 

After what felt like a long, insurmountable storm we welcome our rainbow baby in 2020 and now strive to bring rainbows to your home with our sun-catchers.

A little about how they're made...

I've worked with resin since 2018 so pivoting my skills to make sun-catchers just felt like it made sense.

Each sun-catcher begins with a plain metal ring, get filled with gemstones of various colors and textures, and florals. The fun really begins, though, when the resin is dried. After cleaning each piece and drilling holes, I then get to work on adding all the pieces that give these pieces their signature personality. 

From chains, gemstone beads, ceramic beads, and other additions each piece is unique. We hope you love our sun-catchers as much as we do!
